Nutty, earthy, smooth

I finally tried this “holy grail” matcha thanks to a friend who traveled to Japan and bought me some. I can say it nearly matched the hype, which is impressive given how much there is. It has the rich and nutty Yame notes but also some earthiness (in a good way) I wasn’t expecting. I will say the one thing I was surprised about was the astringency (as both usucha and latte). I rated it 2.5/5. I know some people like it (even more) but I prefer my matchas with as little as possible. I tried as both usucha and latte and preferred it as usucha. Maybe it’s my bias because it’s so hard to get and I want to really taste it!
