Zen is organically grown Samidori from Gokasho in Uji, near the river, from a producer with a record in Japanese tea judging competitions. The powder is a darker green than the rest of the premium tier and the cup is fuller and more assertive, with a bitterness that reads clean and does not linger. The umami arrives early and moves on.
