Description

Houki (芳輝) is a first-harvest matcha from Nagasaki grown from the Seimei cultivar, which accounts for roughly one percent of Japanese matcha. The tencha is steamed and lightly roasted right after picking, which gives the powder a black sesame aroma that carries into kinako and toasted milk bread. Bitterness is faint. The producer is a Nagasaki tea master decorated in national tea competitions, and batches are small.
